Project 2: Audio Storytelling
I am tasked with picking a popular fairy-tale story of my choice and creating an audiobook. This project is a step up from auditory imaging, as now I need to not only think about a suitable soundscape but also record my voice with proper voice acting. It's all about bringing everything together, using sound effects to highlight and enhance the storytelling experience. I imagine this as creating a radio show, where every detail contributes to immersing the listener in the story.
Before I start recording, I try to find the story on the Internet. Then, I found "Frozen".
After confirming the story, I start to record using my phone.
I recorded the story sentence by sentence.
For this project, I learned how to clean up audio using noise reduction and Declicker tools. When I listened to the recording, I heard a lot of background noise and clicking sounds. These unwanted sounds made the recording hard to listen to, so I needed to remove them. I used the noise reduction tool to take out background noise, like static and other sounds. I learned how to take a "noise print" and use it to clean up the whole recording. I also used the Declicker tool to remove small clicking and popping sounds. This made the audio smoother and clearer. Using these tools together helped me improve the quality of the sound. I learned how to adjust the settings carefully so that the main audio still sounded natural. This project showed me how to make recordings sound much better, and now I feel more confident in editing audio. I can use these skills in future projects to create clean and clear recordings.
